About
Your Local Landscapers in Bonnyrigg
Living Green Outdoors covers Bonnyrigg and the surrounding Fairfield City Council area, with our Hinchinbrook base putting us a comfortable drive from every job in the suburb. Bonnyrigg is one of the more established South West Sydney suburbs, with most homes built between the post-war period and the late 1980s, plus the elevated Bonnyrigg Heights section with its own character and slightly different block stock. Our work here is mostly about modernising older established backyards, replacing tired original landscaping, adding proper entertaining zones, and bringing 30–50-year-old yards up to current standards.
A lot of our Bonnyrigg clients have multi-generational households or large extended families, which means backyards here often need to comfortably accommodate bigger gatherings, wider paved entertaining areas, undercover alfresco zones, and clear sight lines from indoor kitchen spaces out into the yard. Vegetable garden integration, traditional planting choices and outdoor cooking areas come up more often here than in the newer estates. We run the trades in-house across design, demolition, build and clean-up. Licensed (468421C) and fully insured on every job we take on.

Local Conditions
Landscaping in Bonnyrigg — Local Conditions to Plan For
Bonnyrigg (postcode 2177) sits within Fairfield City Council and is one of the more established South West Sydney suburbs, developed mostly through the 1960s, 70s and 80s with some earlier post-war pockets. Block sizes are larger than newer estates typically 500–700sqm and occasionally bigger, with mature trees, established gardens and original infrastructure showing its age. The Bonnyrigg Heights section sits on more elevated, undulating terrain, which means retaining walls and stepped-garden work are more common in those streets than on the flatter parts of the suburb.
Soil across Bonnyrigg is older clay, well-settled after decades of established ground cover with generally good natural drainage, though heavily compacted in older lawn areas where decades of use have packed the soil down. The main challenges here are scale and age: large original yards that haven’t been properly redesigned since the 1970s, sleeper retaining walls from the 80s that have failed, and original concrete entertaining slabs that crack and shift over time.
The most common Bonnyrigg jobs we take on are full backyard transformations for multi-generational families, large covered alfresco builds, retaining wall rebuilds in the Heights section, and complete front yard restructures to modernise long-established properties.
- Multi-Generational Backyards
- Large Alfresco Builds
- Heights Retaining Walls
Older Settled Clay
Decades of established cover means good drainage but heavy compaction in old lawn areas.
Heights Terrain Variation
Bonnyrigg Heights sits on undulating ground — retaining walls and stepped gardens are common.
Aging 70s–80s Infrastructure
Original concrete, timber walls and entertaining slabs often need full removal and replacement.
Larger Family-Scale Yards
Bigger 500–700sqm blocks suit multi-zone designs for extended-family entertaining needs.

Artificial turf looks so good and the front pavers and pebbles are amazing.
Thank you so much for the outstanding service.

He had some fantastic suggestions, including adding a small garden bed with white pebbles, which really helped tie the whole backyard together and create a great flow.
I highly recommend Robert, not only for the quality of his work, but also for his excellent after-service. His communication was exceptional throughout the entire process, and he always kept me updated as the job progressed.
