Middleton Grange was developed in different stages during the last fifteen years, so as a result, there is a clear distinction in the type of home development within the suburb. The new sections being handed over in the current year will be brand new homes with unlandscaped yards, while many of the homes built between 2009-2011 are at the stage where their original landscapers installed turf, etc. and need either replacement or upgrade. We can complete full backyard packages, including installation of turf, pavers and an alfresco area for these new developments. For those homes that were built five to ten years ago, we offer services for early-life backyard updates.
A large number of our clients in Middleton Grange are families with children attending local schools. Middleton Grange (postcode 2171) sits within the Liverpool City Council and has been developed in stages from around 2010 through to recent releases. Block sizes typically run 350–550sqm with longer rear yards and narrower frontages, and the terrain across the suburb has more gentle variation than the dead-flat estates further west. Some streets sit on slight slopes, which affects drainage planning and occasionally calls for retaining wall work in the rear yard.
Soil across Middleton Grange is heavy clay with construction fill on the newer release blocks, settling into more stable ground in the older stages. The biggest planning consideration here is which stage of the suburb a property sits in. Brand-new builds need the full blank-slate treatment with proper drainage prep, while the earlier 2010–2014 builds have 10–15-year-old original landscaping that’s tired but doesn’t always need full demolition often, a targeted refresh works better and stretches the budget further.
