Living Green Outdoors has worked with local property owners in the Hinchinbrook area, throughout the Liverpool City Council area, for over 7 years. Most of our work here involves restoring existing features in these properties instead of creating them anew. We primarily receive requests from clients who own original owner-occupied homes, and the gardens associated with those homes are nearing twenty-five years of age. As such, many of our clients require us to replace their existing lawns, restore retaining walls and install new pergolas or alfresco spaces in conjunction with updating their backyards.
We also see a great deal of repeat business in the Hinchinbrook area, as this is an older neighborhood where we’ve seen families grow and expand their households over time. Hinchinbrook (Postcode 2168) falls within the boundaries of Liverpool City Council. It is an established suburb in the Liverpool area. Most homes were built during the Late 80’s and early 90’s. Blocks vary in size from 550 square metres to 700 square meters; these are larger than many of the more recent growth corridor developments. Mature gardens, old tree lines and their original landscaping can be seen at every property however, this also indicates that much of it is nearing the end of its useful life.
Clay-based soils exist throughout Hinchinbrook, but years of vegetation have allowed them to settle, so while they may require some form of drainage preparation when compared to other areas, such as newer western development sites, they do tend to pose fewer problems. Working with existing elements in the yard is likely going to be your biggest hurdle in completing a renovation project. Elements include large mature trees with extensive root structures, rotting timber sleeper retaining walls constructed decades ago and concrete pathways/driveways that will need to be removed and replaced as part of a larger renovation process.
